“
I am a pedestrian who was hit by a car when I was 16 years old. I used to attend the night time monthly group support, and I got a lot of information. It wasn’t enough though and I was very happy when the society opened the centre to 5 days per week. I could come and talk with the staff to help me deal with my problems, and they helped me when I needed to get to appointments. They welcomed my mom and other family members to come in and learn about brain injury and it was really nice being able to do that. The brain injury centre is like my home away from home. They helped me get an alternative to traditional employment and they helped pay for me to sell my crafts at the Farmer’s Market every year. It really makes me feel like I am contributing. I love my brain injury family.
