After a terrible car accident left me with a brain injury, severe nerve damage, and a serious back injury, I didn’t know where to turn. I found the Powell River Brain Injury Society, and they became my lifeline. They helped me through some of the darkest times and gave me purpose again. With their support, I went from being a client to becoming a peer support worker, helping others like me. Before my accident, I had been working as a very busy HVAC installer and welder. I still use those skills and now make art from metal and sell it at local markets. The Brain Injury Society gave me a second chance, and I’m forever grateful.
