Dave J. Formosa

Treasurer

Dave J. Formosa is a lifelong resident of Powell River with a deep-rooted commitment to community service. He has held numerous leadership roles, including current and past President of the Powell River Chamber of Commerce, founding director of the Bruce Denniston Bone Marrow Society,  and Grand Knight of Council 5417 of the Knights of Columbus.

Dave’s dedication to public service has been widely recognized. He was awarded the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal by the Federation of Canadian Municipalities and was named Powell River’s Person of the Year in 2016. He has served as a city councillor and as mayor of Powell River—running unopposed in what is believed to be a first in the city’s history. Alongside his public service, Dave is also a successful business entrepreneur.

A long-time supporter and donor of the Brain Injury Society, Dave has been involved since its inception and is a familiar presence among clients in residence. He has proudly watched the organization grow from a one-room, one-person operation into a vital community resource.

Dave brings a wealth of experience in governance, leadership, and nonprofit development. If elected to the board, he looks forward to supporting the new Executive Director and contributing to the continued growth and success of the Society.
