Whitney La-Fortune

Whitney La-Fortune is a visual artist and retired Community Healthcare worker. Born and raised on the west coast, she took time out from various adventures to achieve the dean’s list while pursuing her interest in Graphic Design and Communications. Moving with her family to Powell River in 1990 she became involved in the arts community, local television programming and mural projects encouraging community participation. Some of the latter can be seen at the hospital, the Patricia Theatre and the most recent Brain Injury mural project created with the Tla’amin nation’s assistance. Whitney’s volunteer work has included time with the Coast Guard auxiliary, Hospice and her current involvement with Elderdog of Canada.
