Catherine Peterson
Secretary
Catherine began her service working life as a group home parent for troubled juvenile boys, ages 11 to 16. She dedicated four years to this role under the Social Services Administration of the BC government. After raising her family to school age, Catherine took on a new challenge, working for a nonprofit Model Community Project. This initiative played a pivotal role in securing accessible community designation for Powell River, enhancing services in transportation, education, recreation, and employment.
In addition to this, Catherine worked as an instructor at the Alternate School, where she provided direct guidance to youth who needed additional support. Her commitment to making a difference in her community continued as she pursued further education to enhance her skills and expertise.
